Americans Waste As Much As They Eat

Grocery stores in America have become vast palaces of exotic food. But walking through my grocery store, I wondered how much of the produce, fish and baked goods are sold, and what happens to material that is not sold. I have patients who work in those sections of the store and they tell me a disturbing tale. At least half the produce, fish and bread is not sold and gets DISCARDED. More...

CBS Nightly News has been doing nightly segments on obesity. Starting in Houston, the fattest city in the U.S.A., Mika Brzezinski has been traveling though the Midwest exploring the obesity epidemic.
