U.S. Gluttony Deforms The World
Two days ago Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran, at the United Nations, said U.S. overconsumption deforms and stresses the entire world, and will destroy America. Hugo Chavez of Venezuela said the same thing. Non-crazy foreigners as well agree. But does any American hear the message? Will any U.S. newspaper print it? Does any TV anchor get it? No.

The Cost of Diets
On AOL today, it said the average American spends $54.50 per week on food. That's wrong; the true figure is much higher. If you divide the U.S. weekly human-food consumption by the U.S. population, you get a figure over $100, in line with western European nations. You didn't really believe we spent less than the Europeans! The silly $54 number was based on telephone interviews, notoriously unreliable. More...
