Michael Anchors, MD, PhD is a practicing physician in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Dr. Anchors was awarded a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Harvard University in 1974 and performed postdoctoral research in neurochemistry at UCLA from 1974 to 1978.

Then from 1978 to 1980 he earned his M.D. from the University of Miami medical school.

Dr. Anchors performed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Duke University from 1980 to 1983.

He returned to research at the National Institutes of Health cardiology division studying cholesterol metabolism from 1983 to 1985.

Dr. Anchors is a clinical professor of medicine at Georgetown University and has run a private practice since 1985.

"None of this matters," says Dr. Anchors.

"What makes me right about phen-pro is not which schools I attended, but the fact that my 10,000 patients lost weight and keep the weight off. I observe them with my own eyes and listen, without being blinded by old ideas."
